The Green Toilet Lux batch composting toilets are designed for indoor use boasting an elegant porcelain pedestal that offers both familiarity and ease of use without the need for special instructions.
The larger model, Green Toilet Lux 330 comes with two spacious composting containers making the system ideal for holiday homes, AirBnbs, year-round residences as well as to public sites. In public use, the capacity can easily be extended with additional spare containers sold separately.
The Green Toilet Lux 330 is a split-system composting toilet, which means that you will need at least 3 feet space below your toilet floor level for the Green Toilet composting container. The exact space requirement for this model is 37 inches. If you don't have so much space, you might want to consider for example the GL 90 split-system composting toilet that is similar to Green Toilet Lux models, but requires much less space below floor-level. In case you have no space at all below the floor, you may like our self-contained waterless toilets.

Operating Principle
All waste, including toilet paper, is directed down a waste shaft into the green composting unit. The Green Toilet features a unique double base that effectively separates excess liquid from the solid compost material. This innovative design allows the composting process to begin right from the moment the toilet is put in to used.
The Green Toilet LUX operates on a batch composting principle, necessitating the use of a spare container. As one container fills, it’s swapped out for an empty one. The full container is then sealed with a lid and set aside to decompose into rich, nutritious mulch over a period of 6-12 months, depending on environmental conditions. For convenience, the containers are equipped with wheels, making them easy to transport and manage.
Service
During the use of the toilet, dry material such as hemp or peat is added after every use 1-2 dl. Alternatively, dry material can be added separately 1-2 times a week a larger amount, about 1-2 gallons.
The porcelain pedestal can be washed with little water, a toilet brush and biodegradable detergent, if needed for example once per week. Please note that usually the porcelain pedestal stays clean by itself after use. Rarely there are any marks of use after using the toilet.
When the Green Toilet container gets full, an empty full container is taken into use. In the attached video, the change of the container is showed. Please note that the service can be done in minutes and no shoveling is needed.
