Green Toilet 100 Easy Black

Ideal for Various Settings:

  • Seasonal Use: Suitable for 2–4 individuals, making it perfect for holiday homes.
  • Continuous Use: Accommodates 1–2 individuals for regular, everyday use.

The Green Toilet 100 Easy is a versatile composting toilet that offers a practical solution for both outhouse and indoor applications. This model handles all toilet waste—liquids, solids, and toilet paper alike—within a single composting bin. Its innovative design features a special double base that effectively separates excess liquid from the compost mass, which is crucial for efficient composting and odor prevention.

The Green Toilet 100 Easy is a single-bin composting toilet that can be turned into a swappable bin system (also known as batch composting) by adding a spare bin, available separately. With two bins, servicing becomes a quick and easy process: when the bin in use becomes full of compost, it is simply swapped for the empty one, and the full bin rests aside and continues composting until it is needed again.

The Green Toilet 100 Easy is fully self-contained, which means it can easily be installed directly on floor level. This system does not require any space below floor level.

Core Features & Benefits

Flexible Installation: Can be easily fitted into any available space, indoors or in an outhouse.

Effective Liquid Separation: The system’s design separates excess liquid from the solid waste, ensuring an odor-free experience.

Simple Service Process: Equipped with wheels for effortless servicing, eliminating direct contact with compost.

How the Green Toilet 100 Easy works

The Green Toilet 100 Easy is a waterless composting toilet — no water and no plumbing needed. All waste, including toilet paper, drops into a single composting bin beneath the seat, where nature does most of the work.

Liquid separation with the double base

Inside the bin, a special double base separates excess liquid from the solid waste. Solids and toilet paper stay on top and begin composting, while surplus liquid drains through to the base — keeping the compost at the right moisture level. This liquid separation is the key to odor-free operation.

A perforated false bottom separates liquids from solids, preventing odors and keeping the composting process efficient

Composting

Helped by a small amount of dry bulking material (peat moss, hemp shavings or coconut coir), the solid waste breaks down into compost, and its volume shrinks significantly over time.

Ventilation

A ventilation pipe draws air out of the bin, preventing odors from entering the room and helping excess moisture evaporate. Every Green Toilet 100 Easy comes with an electric ventilation fan included to keep airflow steady — especially useful indoors.

Single bin, or a swappable bin system

On its own, the Green Toilet 100 Easy is a simple single-bin composting toilet. Add a spare bin and it becomes a swappable bin system (also known as batch composting): when one bin fills up, you swap it for the empty spare and set the full one aside to finish composting — so you never handle raw waste and can go much longer between emptyings.

Using the Green Toilet 100 Easy

The Green Toilet 100 Easy is used just like a regular toilet. All waste, including toilet paper, is deposited directly into the composting bin. After urination, there’s no need to add anything. After a #2, we recommend adding a small amount of dry bulking material—such as peat moss, hemp shavings, or coconut coir—into the bin. This helps support the composting process and covers the waste from view. Usually, a small cup of bulking material is enough.

Please do not put anything into the composting toilet other than human waste, toilet paper, and dry organic bulking material. Learn more about putting kitchen waste into a composting toilet.

The Green Toilet 100 Easy is fully self-contained and sits directly on the floor — no plumbing and no under-floor space needed. That makes it just as much at home indoors (in an ADU, tiny home or guest bathroom) as it is in an outbuilding. Here are just some of the places it feels right at home:

    • Traditional outhouse — the classic setup for a waterless toilet.
    • Campground & campsite washrooms — a low-maintenance, water-free option for outdoor recreation areas.
    • Hunting & fishing cabins — reliable sanitation deep in the wilderness, with no plumbing required.
    • Glamping & safari tents — a clean, odor-free toilet that suits upscale outdoor hospitality.
    • National & state park facilities — a self-contained, waterless option for public restrooms in remote locations.
    • Garden sheds & allotments — turn a corner of the garden into a convenient, self-contained toilet.
    • Tree houses — off-grid by nature; no water lines needed up in the branches.
    • Homesteads & farm outbuildings — rugged and dependable for everyday rural life.
    • Shipping container restrooms — ideal for events, work sites and pop-up facilities.
    • Construction sites — a clean, odor-free alternative to a rented porta-potty on residential building projects.

…and many more, including tiny homes, cabins, ADUs and backyard garden studios. Wherever you need a toilet without water or electricity, the Green Toilet 100 Easy has you covered.

Installation of the Green Toilet 100 Easy

The installation of the Green Toilet 100 Easy is designed to be flexible, accommodating a variety of settings. The toilet can be placed directly on the floor in any available space. Provisions are made for ventilation pipes and a liquid hose to exit from the back of the toilet. With clear instructions provided, the installation process is straightforward.

Green Toilet 100 Easy installation options

Here is an example of an indoor installation in a restroom of a summer cafe.

Green Toilet Easy indoor installation

Service of the Green Toilet 100 Easy

When the bin of the Green Toilet 100 Easy becomes full, it is time for service. The liquid hose and the ventilation pipe are unfastened from the toilet, and the wheels are placed under it. All this can be done without any tools in seconds. Then the toilet can be wheeled out of the outhouse or bathroom for emptying.

Green Toilet is easy to service with detachable wheels and comfortable handles

The compost inside the toilet can either be turned or shoveled into a garden compost for further composting.

Spare container option

Alternatively, the toilet can be serviced without emptying the full bin straight away by using a Green Toilet 100 Easy Spare Container. Adding a spare bin turns the toilet into a swappable bin system (also known as batch composting): the full bin is sealed with the closed lid of the spare bin and set aside outside for further composting, while the empty spare bin takes its place in use. By the time the spare bin becomes full, the compost in the first bin is expected to be ready, and the bins can change places again.

Please note that there is a complete Green Toilet 100 Easy package available with the spare container at a discounted price.

Does the Green Toilet 100 Easy smell?

No. The Green Toilet 100 Easy is designed to be odor-free. Its double-base design separates excess liquid from the solid waste, which is essential for odor-free operation, and the ventilation directs any air outward. With the vent installed correctly, the toilet stays pleasant to use.

Can I use it indoors, in an ADU or a tiny home?

Yes. The Green Toilet 100 Easy is fully self-contained and sits directly on the floor — it needs no space below floor level and no structural modifications, which makes it ideal for indoor spaces, ADUs, tiny homes, cabins and outhouses. Every Green Toilet 100 Easy now comes with an electric ventilation fan included, which is especially helpful for indoor installations.

How often do I need to service it?

The bin holds about 100 liters (~26 gallons). In part-time seasonal use by 2–4 people it typically takes a few months to fill; in full-time use by 1–2 people, similar. When the bin fills up, you simply wheel it out — no tools needed. Adding a spare bin turns it into a swappable bin system: swap the full bin for the empty one and let the full one finish composting, so you can go much longer between emptyings.

Do I need the spare bin?

Not for occasional seasonal use — a single bin is enough. But for full-time or year-round use, we recommend the spare bin (included in the package version, or available separately). With two bins you always have an empty one ready while the full one composts, which makes servicing quick, clean and hands-off.

Can I use it in a cold climate? What happens if it freezes?

Yes. Freezing temperatures pause the composting process but do not prevent you from using the toilet. Composting resumes on its own once temperatures rise in spring or summer. In very cold regions you may simply need a little extra capacity (an additional spare bin) to cover the shorter composting season.

What bulking material should I use?

After a #2, add a small cup of dry organic bulking material such as peat moss, hemp shavings or coconut coir. It supports the composting process and covers the waste from view. There’s no need to add anything after urination.

What do I do with the finished compost?

Leave the full bin sealed to finish composting. Once ready, the compost can be used as fertilizer for non-edible plants, trees and garden beds — returning nutrients to the soil instead of flushing them away.

Where can I order the Green Toilet 100 Easy?

You can order directly through our online shop. Delivery within the United States typically takes 2–8 days. You’ll receive a tracking code after ordering.

This pipe package worked great. We had to get a few extra pieces just because we needed to extend it to the side of the house that the snow doesn't fall off of.

We live in Downeast Maine, and so far, I have been very happy with the setup! Our house was built on a pile foundation on a ledge, and it would cost more than usual to install a septic system, so we looked into other options. We had just enough room under the house for this size bin. (Note: we bolted the pressure treated boards to the ledge.) Also, I recommend getting the extra solar fan vent cover.
I will update my review after this winter as well.

Green Toilet Compact Lux

Average Daily Capacity per 26-Gallon Composting Bin

(Based on approx. 150 uses involving a #2 — i.e., poop) – only the solids count!

Service Interval #2 Visits per Day (involving a #2)
30 days (1 month) ~5.0 visits/day
60 days (2 months) ~2.5 visits/day
90 days (3 months) ~1.7 visits/day
180 days (6 months) ~0.8 visits/day
365 days (1 year) ~0.4 visits/day

👥 Roughly how often will I service a bin?

Full-Time Users Time Before a Bin Swap
1 person about 4–5 months
2 people about 2–3 months
3 people about 1.5–2 months
4 people about 1–2 months

🟢 What counts as a “#2 visit”?

Only visits that involve pooping (i.e., going number two) — urine-only visits don’t contribute to filling the composting bin and are not included in the estimate.

🔄 Why two bins?

The Green Toilet Compact Lux comes with two composting bins. The figures above are per bin: when one fills up you swap in the empty one, and the full bin is left to compost undisturbed until you next need it. The second bin doesn’t make the interval longer — it means you never have to empty a bin in a hurry. Additional bins can be added at any time.

⚠️ Disclaimer: These estimates are approximations. The actual number of solid uses per bin may vary significantly depending on climate, temperature, ventilation, user habits, and the amount of dry bulking material (e.g., wood shavings or peat) added after each use.

CF 8 Composting Toilet – Estimated Daily Capacity

The CF 8 is a continuous composting toilet system featuring a single large 250-gallon container. Like the CF 4, it is designed for gradual emptying rather than batch-style use. Solids are typically removed in thirds or sections, allowing earlier deposits time to fully compost inside the tank.

This setup allows for either:

🔁 Continuous Use: Gradual Emptying in Thirds

When used year-round, the CF 8 is typically emptied one-third at a time, effectively composting in three rotating “piles” within the container.

Because the CF 8 is more than twice as large as the CF 4, each pile can hold approximately 480–960 poops, depending on composting conditions and how much bulking material is used.

Service Interval (per pile) Estimated #2 Visits per Day
30 days (1 month) ~17–32 visits/day
60 days (2 months) ~8–16 visits/day
90 days (3 months) ~5–11 visits/day
180 days (6 months) ~3–5 visits/day
365 days (1 year) ~1.2–2.6 visits/day

💡 These figures assume that one-third of the tank is in active use at a time, with older waste given time to compost before removal.

🌤 Seasonal Use: Full-Tank Emptying After Inactive Period

For cabins, cottages, or other sites used seasonally, the CF 8 can be used for a few months and then left idle to allow full composting. In such cases, the entire tank may be emptied once a year.

Full-tank capacity estimate: ~1,440–2,880 poops

Example: 120 days of use (approx. 4 months):
→ ~12–24 solid visits per day on average

⚠️ Disclaimer

These numbers are rough estimates based on typical use and conditions. Actual capacity will vary depending on:

For best performance, ensure proper aeration, regular bulking material use, and consistent emptying of composted portions.

💡 Want to Maximize Capacity? Consider a Urine-Diverting Toilet — With Some Important Considerations

upgrade to a urine diverting toilet pedestal

If you’re looking to maximize the capacity of the CF 8 system — aiming for 960+ poops per composting “pile” — we recommend using a urine-diverting (UD) toilet pedestal.

✅ Benefits of Urine Separation:

By diverting urine out of the solids container, the volume taken up by absorbent material (like peat or wood shavings) is significantly reduced. This can make a big difference in how often the system needs to be emptied.

⚠️ Downsides to Consider:

Urine-diverting toilets can take some time to get used to. Users need to sit or aim correctly to ensure proper separation, which might not happen consistently without experience or guidance.

For this reason, UD toilets are generally not ideal for public or commercial settings where the toilet is used by guests, tourists, or other first-time users. In these cases, misuse can reduce the effectiveness of the system and may even lead to unpleasant maintenance issues.

In short: A UD toilet is an excellent choice for maximizing capacity in private or family use, but for guest or public access composting toilets, a standard non-diverting model may be more practical and user-friendly.

Green Toilet 100 Easy – Estimated Daily Capacity

The Green Toilet 100 Easy is a compact and user-friendly batch composting toilet with a 26-gallon composting container. Its design makes it well-suited for outhouses, cabins, and even indoor use. A spare container is available to expand capacity and simplify servicing.

🔢 Estimated Solid-Waste Capacity per Bin:

Note: Due to the shape and internal structure of the container, the actual composting capacity is slightly lower than its raw volume might suggest, if you compare with Green Toilet 120 Family composting toilet for example.

📆 Average Daily Capacity per Bin

Service Interval Estimated #2 Visits per Day
30 days (1 month) ~6–7 visits/day
60 days (2 months) ~3–4 visits/day
90 days (3 months) ~2.2 visits/day
180 days (6 months) ~1.1 visits/day
365 days (1 year) ~0.5 visits/day

CF 4 Composting Toilet – Estimated Daily Capacity

The CF 4 is a continuous composting toilet system featuring a single large 105-gallon container. Unlike batch composting systems (such as the Green Toilet models), the CF 4 is designed for gradual emptying — solids are typically removed in thirds or sections, allowing earlier deposits time to fully compost inside the tank.

This setup allows for either:

🔁 Continuous Use: Gradual Emptying in Thirds

When used year-round, the CF 4 is typically emptied one-third at a time, effectively composting in three rotating “piles” within the container. Depending on composting conditions and how much bulking material is used, each pile can hold approximately 200–400 poops.

Service Interval (per pile) Estimated #2 Visits per Day
30 days (1 month) ~7–13 visits/day
60 days (2 months) ~3–7 visits/day
90 days (3 months) ~2–4 visits/day
180 days (6 months) ~1–2 visits/day
365 days (1 year) ~0.5–1.1 visits/day

💡 These figures assume that one third of the tank is in active use at a time, with older waste given time to compost before removal.

🌤 Seasonal Use: Full-Tank Emptying After Inactive Period

For cabins, cottages, or other sites used seasonally, the CF 4 can be used for a few months and then left idle to allow full composting. In such cases, the entire tank may be emptied once a year.

If you’re looking to maximize the capacity of the CF 4 system — aiming for 400+ poops per composting “pile” — we recommend using a urine-diverting (UD) toilet pedestal.

✅ Benefits of Urine Separation:

By diverting urine out of the solids container, the volume taken up by absorbent material (like peat or wood shavings) is significantly reduced. This can make a noticeable difference in how often the system needs to be emptied.

⚠️ Downsides to Consider:

In short: A UD toilet is an excellent choice for maximizing capacity in private or family use, but for guest or public access composting toilets, a standard non-diverting model may be more practical and user-friendly.

Green Toilet 120 Family

💩 Average Daily Capacity per 31-Gallon Composting Bin

(Based on approx. 356 uses involving a #2 — i.e., poop) – only the solids count!

Service Interval #2 Visits per Day (involving a #2)
30 days (1 month) ~11.9 visits/day
60 days (2 months) ~5.9 visits/day
90 days (3 months) ~4.0 visits/day
180 days (6 months) ~2.0 visits/day
365 days (1 year) ~1.0 visits/day

🟢 What counts as a “#2 visit”?
Only visits that involve pooping (i.e., going number two) — urine-only visits don’t contribute to filling the composting bin and are not included in the estimate.

⚠️ Disclaimer:
These estimates are approximations. The actual number of solid uses per bin may vary significantly depending on climate, temperature, ventilation, user habits, and the amount of dry bulking material (e.g., wood shavings or peat) added after each use.

Green Toilet 330

💩 Average Daily Capacity per 87-Gallon Composting Bin

(Based on approx. 1,000 uses involving a #2 — i.e., poop) – only the solids count!

Service Interval #2 Visits per Day (involving pooping)
30 days (1 month) ~33 visits/day
60 days (2 months) ~17 visits/day
90 days (3 months) ~11 visits/day
180 days (6 months) ~5.6 visits/day
365 days (1 year) ~2.7 visits/day

🟢 What counts as a “#2 visit”?
Only visits that involve defecation (pooping) — urine-only visits don’t fill up the composting bin and are not included in the 1,000-use estimate.

⚠️ Disclaimer:
These estimates are based on typical, steady use. The actual number of solid uses a composting bin can handle may vary significantly depending on climate, temperature, humidity, ventilation, and how much dry bulking material (like wood shavings) is added after each use.
