Larger households with daily, year-round use — say, a family of ten — can see that interval shrink to a matter of weeks. The same goes for public or commercial settings with dozens or hundreds of users, where shorter service intervals are simply unavoidable given the volume.
That interval is also easy to stretch back out by adding a second toilet rather than relying on just one. In fact, it’s the natural move once you’re past around ten daily users — splitting usage across multiple toilets keeps each one’s service interval reasonable instead of trying to push a single unit past what it’s built for.
As a rule of thumb: the larger the compost bin and the bigger the model, the longer you’ll go between services. If you’ve got the space to fit a genuinely large bin, we’d generally recommend spending the extra few hundred dollars on the bigger model — it pays off in comfort and a meaningfully longer service interval, so it’s not really the place to cut costs if the space is there.
